Summer Swim Camps

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be offering a variety of swim camps over the summer holidays! This year, we’re expanding the programme to include SwimSafe, SwimFit, Rookie Lifeguard, and Swim Skills 1-3 camps.

There should be a camp to cater for every swimmer’s ability, whether your child is a complete beginner or looking to develop life-saving skills and advance their technique.

To sign up to any of these camps you must have register with the Client Hub first. If you are currently on the waiting list or in swimming lesson you will already have an account and no need to reregister. Alternatively, you can create an account and send us a messsage.

Swim Safe

Wednesday 2nd July - Friday 4th July

SwimSafe is a water safety-focused class designed for swimmers aged 8+. This class builds confidence and essential survival skills in the water, with a clear goal: preparing each swimmer to attempt the Atlantis Leisure swim test.

Over the course of the program, swimmers will work on treading water for 30 seconds and confidently swimming 50 meters non-stop using a recognised stroke. While we can’t guarantee that every participant will pass the Atlantis swim test, we will thoroughly prepare them with the skills and confidence needed to give it their best effort.

Along the way, we’ll keep things fun with some team-building games and activities to encourage a positive, supportive environment. Whether your child is nearly there or just getting started, SwimSafe provides structured support to help them succeed and stay safe in and around water.

SwimFit Kids

Monday 7th July - Friday 11th July

SwimFit Kids is a fun, coach-led fitness lane session designed to boost your child’s swimming stamina and refine their technique. Perfect for swimmers who have successfully completed Swim Skills 3 and are ready for a challenge, this session focuses on building endurance, improving technique and developing overall swim fitness.

Swimmers must be able to confidently swim 25 metres of front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke with controlled aquatic breathing.

Sessions will include developing lane etiquette and learning to use equipment such as kickboards, pull buoys, and fins. Swimmers will work on improving the efficiency of their stroke technique—across all four strokes, where appropriate—and begin using the pace clock. Basic training sets will also be introduced to build fitness and stamina, while continuing to refine technique in a structured and supportive environment.

It’s a great way for confident swimmers to stay active, motivated, and continue progressing on their swimming journey.

Rookie Lifeguard

Wednesday 2nd July - Friday 4th July

Rookie lifeguard is aimed at children who can competently swim 50 meters with proficient technique, ideally completing Swim Skills 3. The scheme begins with Stage 1 of the Bronze Award and completes after Stage 3 of the Gold Award.

The summer course is ideal for both new Rookie Lifeguards just starting out, and current Rookie Lifeguards looking to continue their progress, gain more awards, and build on the skills they’ve already developed.

Holiday Camps FAQ

What kind of activities do you do in the Holiday Camp?

We have a massive variety of activities which we offer within our Holiday Camps. We always try and play a bit of sport each day, but we’re well aware that football, rugby, tennis etc don’t appeal to everyone, so we also play a lot of ‘Holiday Camp Games’. These include several variations of dodgeball and lots of different movement based games that your children will learn within the camp. We are in the extremely fortunate position to be able to offer activities such as roller discos, swimming pool sessions; including pool inflatable sessions (for P4-P7), soft play, climbing, playpark, arts & crafts and many, many more. We are proud to be able to offer something for everyone and our activities are run to be safe and fully inclusive for all children, ensuring they are in the best environment to enjoy themselves, whilst making new friends and lasting memories.

What does my child need to bring with them?

All you need to bring is suitable clothing and footwear for partaking in movement based activities, warm clothing (in case any of our activities are outside), water and snacks.

Those in big camp (P4-P7) also need swimming attire (shorts/swimsuit & towel) and packed lunch or money for food/drink from the café.

Are there breaks throughout the day and what happens at lunchtime?

P1-P3 will have a breaks in the function room where we keep our belongings. We would encorage children to bring their own snacks and a drink. They are allowed to visit the vending machine if they have been provided with money but enforce a strict 1 still drink and 1 sweet rule per day.

P4-P7 are based in the Squash Lounge in Atlantis where our belongings are kept under lock and key while we are doing activities. This is where we do the register to start our day and where we take our breaks and have our lunch together. Children are more than welcome to bring snacks and a packed lunch with them, and the café is available at those times as well. Beth at Café Atlantis has kindly offered us a specific ‘Holiday Camp’ menu with some great options for the children. We enforce a strict 1 fizzy drink and 1 sweet per day rule for those who are buying from the café ensuring that the children aren’t overspending on non-essentials.

We don’t live here/our family is visiting can they attend?

Absolutely, we welcome everyone to our camps. Please fill in an enrolment form. You can book online or alternatively you can book by contacting our reception on 01631566800.

Further P4-P7 Camp Questions

What kind of swimming do you do at Holiday Camps ?

We know that swimming is a hugely popular activity within the Holiday Camps, it has always been the case, and we are excited to continue to be able to offer swimming as part of our week. We do our best to make sure the children get swimming every day and we also aim to join the pool inflatable sessions at least once a week.

What if my child can’t swim?

If your child is attending our camp but is unable to adhere to our pool policy of being able to swim 2 lengths of a 25m pool unaided, then they will be unable to go into the Main Pool with the Holiday Camp. We will find a safe activity for them to do.

Can you do a half day or does my child need to be in from 9am-4pm?

We no longer offer half day prices at camp. The feedback from the years where this was offered was that children who only attended half a day were less likely to get to do the activity that they wanted and also felt slightly isolated from the children who were there all day. If you require your child to be picked up early, this can be arranged, however, the full day price would still be charged as the space for the whole day would be taken by your child.

This all sounds great, how do I book?

You can book online or alternatively you can book by contacting our reception on 01631566800. As always, we recommend booking at the earliest opportunity as the camps do tend to fill up quickly. We will always try accommodate children turning up on the day but the only way to guarantee your child’s space is through pre-booking. Our class capacity is based on kids to coach ratios and cannot be exceeded. Please also fill in an enrolment form particularly in regards to any medical/ allergy information that may be useful for coaches to know and emergency contact details.
