Atlantis Leisure is so much more than just a health and leisure centre. We’re a community organisation - built by and for the community of Oban and Lorn. An important part of our role as a social enterprise is finding different ways to support other groups. Over the years, Atlantis has helped the development of a wide range of community organisations, clubs and teams.

Lorn & Oban Healthy Options is a charitable community health initiative which encourages people to get healthier and fitter. Oban Tennis and Squash Club Atlantis Leisure

Oban Tennis and Squash Club

Atlantis started out as a tennis, squash and swimming facility and this has remained an important aspect of what we do. The Oban Tennis and Squash Club are an independent club who play together regularly but also put on events, including West Highland Tennis Week - one of the longest running tennis competitions in the country. Countless Oban swimmers have the Oban Swim School to thank for honing their skills in swimming and lifesaving. The school is Atlantis’ in-house learn to swim programme and works with adults and youngsters alike. Wee Walk Oban Atlantis Leisure Argyll Community Enterprise

Wee Walk Oban

Wee Walk Oban is a community health initiative designed to encourage the pursuit of healthy, active lives through walking. The project highlights the many walking routes in and around Oban and provides guidance on how to enjoy walking in line with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. The project is a collaboration with local outdoor experts and amateurs both suggesting favourite routes and advice.

Oban Otters Atlantis Leisure Argyll Swimming Pool Health Social Enterprise

Oban Otters

Oban Otters have been a mainstay of swimming excellence in Argyll for over 20 years. The club compete at a variety of levels and across a range of disciplines. Otters work with children who have Swim Skills 4 or equivalent and is run by a volunteer committee. All classes are taught by UKCC Level 1 and 2 teachers. Oban Community Playpark Atlantis Leisure

Friends of Oban Community Playpark

Friends of Oban Community Playpark are a group of passionate locals that came together in December 2011 to provide a play and recreation area using a green field site on Atlantis Leisure land. Fast forward through several years of hard work, phenomenal fund-raising and advocacy and the Oban Community Playpark is here! It’s an outstanding play area for families to relax and play together in a safe, friendly environment. The playpark also includes a multi-sensory garden for all ages. Oban Youth Café is a small community charity, established in June 2001. We strive to offer good quality youth work provision for the young people in our community.

ALI Energy

ALIenergy works to promote sustainable energy use and renewable energy generation, to address fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions.

Hope Kitchen

Hope Kitchen is a local charity that aims to serve Oban, Lorn and the Isles. Hope Kitchen comprises New Hope community hub and Cafe and Green Shoots Community Garden.

Active Schools

Active Schools is a national programme in partnership with sportscotland with the aim of providing more and higher quality opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity before school, during lunchtime and after school, and to develop effective pathways between schools and sports clubs in the local community.

Young people make a valuable contribution as leaders in sport. Active Schools Coordinators provide leadership opportunities across a range of roles and support young people throughout their leadership journey. Active Schools has worked with schools for the last 13 years ,providing opportunities for children and young people to get involved, and stay involved, in sport and will continue to make a significant contribution to a world-class sporting system in Scotland.

Oban Phoenix Cinema

In August 2012 Oban Phoenix Cinema opened its doors as a fully independent community-owned cinema, and a registered charity. Since then they have not only managed to stay open, but to thrive, and today they screen an eclectic mix of film including but not limited to arthouse, big blockbuster movies and live streamed theatre. Oban Phoenix Cinema is operated by a General Manager, several Duty Managers and a Front of House team, and has a volunteer Board of Directors.

The Rockfield Centre

Oban Communities Trust was established on 1st August 2014 following a large community campaign to purchase and save the former Rockfield Primary School building. The local community identified a desire to establish a cultural hub within The Rockfield Centre accommodating four themes extracted during a community consultation.
